If you’re currently planning your summer or fall adventures and see yourself heading to Europe, I recommend adding Barcelona to your short list, especially if you love a good city-beach escape. As one of the largest metropolises on the Mediterranean Sea, Barcelona has them both! (Not to mention the city’s other outdoor activities, events, and festivals.)

My favourite time to visit Barcelona is in October. The weather is still summery, and although the major summer crowds have died off, the city is still full of life.
