Just steps away from shops, eateries, and picturesque beaches, Hyatt Regency Malta is the perfect homebase for your stay in Malta’s main island and in the heart of St. Julian’s Paceville district, and is also just a short drive from the historic capital of Valletta. In addition to being located in Central Malta’s entertainment hotspot, the hotel offers incredible amenities to elevate your stay, including a rooftop terrace and pool, a gym and spa, as well as delicious (and aesthetic) dining options.
Staying
The hotel boasts 151 well-equiped, modern-style rooms and suites.
Tip: Book a room or suite on a high floor with a seaview–you’ll not only benefit from views of the Mediterranean Sea but also expansive views of the city and a private balcony from which to enjoy them.
My spacious king room featured a dedicated workspace, an armchair, a private balony, and piazza and sea views.
Having stayed at my fair share of hotels, one thing I noted about this stay was the welcoming attitude of the staff, as well as their kindness and readiness to accommodate my requests. Not to mention, their speed–I remember requesting extra coffee pods and receiving them less than a minute later. This definitely wasn’t a one-off either. Whatever system they’ve implemented, it’s definitely working! I’ve stayed in a number of pricey luxury hotels that drop the ball where hospitality is concerned, but the staff at Hyatt Regency Malta were always ready, willing, helpful, and friendly.
I also really appreciated the daily turndown service every evening (chocolate treats on the pillows? yes, please).
Dining
Aptly named Seed, Thyme, and GIN-ger, the hotel’s restaurants offer stylish and indulgent dining experiences borne from locally crafted menus with strong Mediterranean influences.
Tip: Have breakfast included in your stay so you can experience the deliciousness of and fuel up with each morning’s breakfast offerings at Seed (there is an à-la-carte option if that better suits your stay, but trust me, try breakfast here at least once!).
For a more elevated dining experience or even just some fancy cocktails, head to Thyme.
And for a more casual vibe, make your way up to GIN-ger, the hotel’s rooftop bar and restaurant. Grab drinks, take a dip in the pool, and enjoy delicious menu items in a relaxed (yet trendy) environment, against the backdrop of St. George’s Bay and the open sea with panoramic views of the surrounding city.
Of course, if you want a comfortable meal in, room service is also an option. Or you can order food directly to the hotel using Malta’s version of UberEats–the Wolt app. If you’re looking to venture out of the hotel, there are plenty of nearby food options, from fast food to high dining and everything in between!
Entertainment
Located in the heart of Malta’s entertainment district, Hyatt Regency Malta is just steps away from some of the area’s most popular lifestyle activities. This part of the island is often bustling long into the night and promises the ultimate entertainment experience.
Go shopping right next door at the Bay Street Shopping Complex, check out a movie at Malta’s largest cinama complex, go bowling, (*responsibly!*) try your luck at the casino, or head to the beach!
Staying at Hyatt Regency Malta will give you access to some of the most vibrant districts of St. Julian’s and leave with you with plenty of entertainment options, including an exciting nightlife scene. Trust me, you will never be bored!
Wellness & Relaxation
If a more peaceful stay is more your thing, or if you just want some time to relax and unwind, the hotel’s boutique wellness centre was made for you. Enjoy spa treatments, a steam bath, a Finnish sauna, an ice fountain, and the peaceful indoor pool at Carisma Spa & Wellness.
Destress and stay active at the Hyatt StayFit fitness centre, open 24/7 for guests’ convenience.
Overall, my stay at Hyatt Regency Malta was one that allowed me to conveniently explore and experience St. Julian’s to the fullest. Not to mention, I ate my heart out and enjoyed *all of the views* while I was there. I am so grateful to all of the staff I interacted with for making me feel welcomed and appreciated as a guest.
